GrOuNdEd 4 LiFe!

This is what happens to your almost 2 year old LDC tv after an almost 5 year old throws a toy at it...
I couldn't really say much except "oh, you are in so much trouble. Your dad is going to be so mad at you. Oh Logan, you are in so much trouble." over and over again. I told him he had to call his dad to tell him what happened and I felt myself shaking out of fear on his behalf. As derrick answered the phone I was talking to Logan so Derrick heard me say "Logan I'm shaking, you're going to have to talk to your dad." So Logan proceeded to tell him that Allie told him to throw the toy so he did and it hit the tv and cracked it (as he was hiding on his bed, under is covers) so it sounded a little muffled. So I got on the phone and had to explain to him what had happened. Surprisingly he said, "well, it's just a tv" not at all what I would have guessed would have been the 1st words out of his mouth. Then he explained that he initionally thought something was wrong with me because of what he first heard when he answered the phone. So he was relieved to find out it was "only" the tv. So, I may have accidently saved Logan's little behind today from his dad, but he cannot be spared from the lonely days that will follow. Not being able to watch tv, watch movies, play the wii, play the computer or play with friends is going to be torture on us all!

"Get out of jail free"

Logan : Mom can we do fireworks today?
Mom: No buddy, not today.
Logan: Why?
Mom: Because we would get in trouble.
Justin: Mom and Dad would get arrested.
Mom: (laugh)
Logan: But mom, don't you have a "Get out of jail free" card????
Mom: (laugh louder) I don't have a "Get out of jail free" card.
Logan: yes you do, I remember I saw you get one and you had one once.
Mom: (laugh)Logan, we only have "Get out of Jail free" cards when we play our games, but they don't REALLY work. LOL!
Logan: Ohhhhh!

America, America, God Shed His Grace on Thee!

We decided to celebrate our 4th of July holiday by attending the Stadium of Fire this year. We went with My parents and Kristen and Klay. It was fun being together, but I was feeling really bad that we weren't going to be with the kids to celebrate, but thanks to Aunt Mel, they didn't even notice we were gone. After a little BBQ at her house She took them to Memorial Hill in Midway to enjoy the fireworks(I still need to get the pictures). They had alot of fun being with there cousins.
This is the 3rd time I've been to this event and have enjoyed it each time. I love the patriotic atmosphere. I love the reminder of how blessed I really am to live in the beautiful country. I KNOW that God has truly shed his grace on this land. I alway get so emotional when the Star Spangeled Banner is being sung but it always hits the hardest when it says "and the rockets red glare, the bombs bursting in air, gave proof through the night, that our flag was still there." I love this country and the freedoms we are blessed with because of all those who have been and still are fighting for it! THANK YOU!

What's in a name?

Joking around today I called Derrick by his full name, DERRICK DELAUN HENDRICKSON! Justin started laughing and said "thats dads full name"? So then we started talking about names and why we all have the names we have. So Derrick asked the boys "well what do you think Grandpa H.'s name really is"?
Logan : Um, Grandpa H!
Derrick: No, it's Delaun Hendrickson. That's why my middle name is Delaun, after my dad and Justin is Justin Derrick Hendrickson like me.
Logan (with his little wheels spin in his head trying to grasp it all): Ohhhhh, so Grandpa H is really, Mow-de-lawn Hendrickson.

We couldn't stop laughing after that one. I'm pretty sure it's not going to be Grandpa H. anymore, it just might be Grandpa Mow-de-lawn. :)

Logan we sure love you and the funny things you say!

Cattle Drive 2010

This might sound crazy but the Annual Hendrickson cattle drive is one of the things we all look forward to each year. And this year was no different. Except for the fact that we were able to head up a day earlier and be there in time for branding of the calves. I can honestly say I've never experiences anything quite like that before. I actually just watched, but it was very entertaining watching the guys rope and wrangle the calves to get them into position to receive there brand. It sure looked like a lot of HARD work.First you have to have the support! The you have to have someone dumb enough to wrestle with the calf.

Good job Derrick, you looked great out there! :) Then comes the torture along with the nasty smell!

The following day we moved the cows. I started off on a four wheeler as usually, but this year I ended up on a horse and road it for about 2 of the 4 hours it took to move them. Usually I'm content on my trustworthy ATV, but this year, I guess I need something different. I can honestly say I had never experiences being saddle sore until after that. Ouch! I would have been okay if it was a little bit warmer, but all in all it was a lot of fun. I don't think the kids enjoyed it much this year. Because it was so cold they all wanted to just ride in the car that follows along the way and watch movies. Every now and then they would get out, but they didn't stay out all. We love that Uncle Scott and Aunt Cathy invite us up to help every year. It is definitely creating memories we will ALWAYS remember.

Logan's Preschool

My good friend Lora decided to do a little preschool for her twin daughters and invited Logan to join them. We are so glad she did. He loved it. It was definitely something he looked forward to each week.

He made new friends along the way and played really well with all of them. However, you could tell he especially liked to play with Kate. The 2 of them were inseparable. It was so funny watching them interact with each other. It was like they had a little secret between the them. It is also kind of funny how much the 2 of them look alike. It's Kate and Sara that are the twins, but Logan and Kate sure could pass as brother and sister twins.

They all loved music timeand the field trip to the Fire Station. And trying to get 6 3 year olds to all look at the camera to at the same time for a picture was pretty much impossible.

Thanks Teacher Lora!

Birthday Girl

Allie was ssssoooooo excited for her birthday this year. She picked out the cake she wanted and was all about helping me make it. She even insisted on wearing an apron just like me. Whenever I asked her what she wanted for her birthday she would simply say "pwesents". When I would ask her what kind of "pwesents" she would say "for my birfday". Silly girl. She would also go around singing happy birthday to herself. She is quite the little show off and LOVES the attention. She is growing up so fast and hasn't stopped talking since she learned to say "I love you" at 10 months. She is my little shadow, always by my side. She has a fun personality and I love watching it develop. She is very busy trying to keep up with her brothers, which she does quite well. From wrestling with them on the tramp to riding bikes or even learning how to do armpit fats for that matter.

We love you to PiEceS Little Al!

HaPpY BiRtHdAy tO Me!

Once again I had another spectacular birthday. We were a little busy with a lot going on and wasn't sure when we would be able to celebrate, but Derrick did his best to remind me I was loved. A couple days prior to my birthday I was super excited when he took me to Lowe's to pick out a storm door. I have been wanting one of these and felt like it would be a huge help if I could get one before summer. I get so tired of the boys going in and out of the house and leaving the door open every time. And just in the 3 days of having it on, it has proved to be well worth it's $. I am loving it! I had a lot of visitors throughout the day dropping off gifts and sending birthday wishes, which was also a remind of how blessed I am to have so many wonderful friends in my life. Derrick called to advise me not to make dinner, even though I knew we weren't going to have the time to go out to eat. He brought home a yummy steak and potato dinner from Applebee's which we enjoyed together as a family before Derrick had leave for Mutual. The kids sang happy birthday to me, but I guess they didn't like they way they were sounding because they covered there ears the whole time. Justin had actually been sick all day so he had fallen asleep early so it was kind of a bummer that he was there to share in the good times with us.

Race for the Cure

IN MEMORY OF UNCLE GAYLE and
IN CONGRATULATIONS OF AUNT SUSAN and CATHY STODDARD!

I had a lot of fun being able to participate in the Race for the Cure today. A good friend was walking with her mom who is a Breast Cancer survivor and invited me to tag along. Not only did they pay for me to participate, but they also donated enough for 10 other people to participate with us including my mom, sister and niece. It was a lot of fun. I was amazed at how many people were there. The new tonight said over 17,000 people participated in this 5k event. AMAZING! I had planned on just walking the whole time since I was pushing Abbie in the stroller, but about half way I got a txt from Derrick telling me to "finish strong". I decided at that point I needed to give it my all, so I ran the rest of the way. a mile in a half isn't much to brag about, but I was proud of myself for doing it, especially since I'm not much of a runner. I would like to be, but I have no motivation what so ever. However, this muffin top that is slowly forming around the mid section of my body is slowly starting to motivate me a little more... :) Anyways, This picture is of all the bottled waters they had at the end of the race. I thought it was kind of cool to see all of it lined up. I wonder what it looked like before everyone started finishing. I wasn't anywhere near the front or the last to go through. CRAZY!
Derricks uncle passed away about 12 years ago after fighting breast cancer. It's not very come in men, but they are obviously not exempt from it. I thought of him and his family as I was waiting for the race to start, unfortunately I never had the chance to meet him, but I do know he left an amazing wife, daughter, 2 brothers and a sister behind.
CONGRATULATIONS
Aunt Susan and Cathy!

Loggie Bopps

Our little Loggie Bopps was so excited to FiNaLlY big old enough to play spring soccer. Up 'til now it's been Justin's this and Justin's that, but that has all come to an end. Soccer has officially started for our little buddy. And when we didn't think he could get any more excited he found out that 2 of his cousins were going to be on his team! Hooray!Kara, Jace, Brooke, Kylee (Cousin), Dylan (Cousin) and Logan

They were SO fun to watch. Logan would run as fast as his little legs would take him. Although he did run fast after we would yell "go accelerate" (a cartoon Ben 10 alien that can move VERY fast). He would slap his wrist like he was Ben 10 himself slapping the Omnitrix (watch) to transform into this heroic alien. He was pretty excited when he made his 1st goal and can't stop talking about it.

You can definitely tell Kylee has watched her older sisters play. All the kids knew they wanted to make a goal, but Kylee knew the rules. She could see when the ball was going to go out of bounds and knew the other team had touched it last so she would let it go. If it was our team that last touched it she knew she needed to go for it. She played her little heart out. And Dylan, well Dylan proved to be the little all-star of the team and didn't hesitate to show it. In fact after his first goal he ran to Logan and Kylee and gave them hugs and then came over to the sidelines to give everyone a high 5 as he kept repeating "I'm so good"! And SO humble!
I loved watching these little guys play.

Easter

I have this neighbor who seems to have more energy then anyone I know. She loves to go all out for things and this time it just so happened to be the Easter egg hunt for all the neighborhood friends. Well, of course we have a ginormous snow storm the day before the hunt so she is in shambles trying to figure out where to host this hunt at, since her backyard is now covered in a foot of snow. Well, me being the UN-energetic person that I am told her to just cancel it, but oh no, not her. Where better to have it then in the church gym. The kids were so excited and loved every minute of it. But the fun didn't stop there. We then went up to my mom's house and the festivities continued. Everyone enjoyed being with family and coloring eggs.

Snowmen, Snow Forts and Snow Cones - In ApRiL

We have had MaNy snowmen around this place, but I think this is the best one yet.

Justin was so excited to show me his very 1st snowman he built all on his own.

After seeing Justin's snowman Logan kept begging me to come out to help him build one for him, but I had the neighbor kids here and Allie and her little friend are DoUbLe TrOuBlE when they are together. So I just didn't feel good about leaving them in the house alone, plus I was trying to get Abbie fed and down for a nap.

After much begging and pleading and feeling like I was a bad mom because Logan needed me and I wasn't able to give him the time and attention he needed I finally was able to get Abbie to sleep and the other two in snow clothes to come out with me. Once I got out side Logan informed me "nevermind, I don't want to build a snowman anymore". REALLY LOGAN!

Frustrated, I went back inside, took off all my snow clothes along with the trouble makers. Just to have Justin start begging and pleading for me to help him build a snow fort. AHHHH! A good mom would just do it without having to feel the guilt, but nope not me. The neighbor kids left. Allie and Abbie were both asleep, so on came the snow clothes, AgAiN. Well the second I went to walk out the door Allie woke up, Abbie woke up and neither of them were happy. But out we went to spend some time with Justin. I felt like he was in need of some attention himself.

But you can't have fresh fall'in snow without enjoying a yummy snow cone.and you can't enjoy a yummy snow cone without being in need of some hot chocolate to warm the little body from the inside out!

And in the end it makes all the hassle of the day

WORTH IT!

Sisters

It has been ALOT of fun watching Allie with her new baby sister. She has been such a big helper and surprisingly I haven't seen any jealousy. In fact every time she sees Abbie she says "it's still my turn. I need to hold her on my yap". She sure loves her little sister and you can already tell that Little Abbie is going to LoVe her big sissy...

2 weeks old

I've decided that 2 weeks flies by alot faster just after having a baby then it ever has at any other point in my life.
How am I suppose to cherish these moments if they go by so fast?
She didn't like Allie's Build-A-Bear outfit so much, but it was a perfect fit! :)

Allie felt like she needed to get in on the picture taking.

What a cute little stink!

Thanks Nikki Lou for spending the day with me and taking these for me.

Even though little Coy scratched her eye right before. Oops! ;)

Toothless

Justin has had this tooth hanging by a thread for a few days now, but tonight Derrick told him it was time to come out. He insisted on doing it himself. So after 10-20 mins of walking around with dental floss tied to it and slightly yanking on it he gave up and decided he was too chicken. Derrick told him he would untie it for him. HA! I'm not sure why anyone would trust a mischievous person such as him... Hence the end result... You look good buddy!

Induction Day

We arrived at the hospital at 6:00 am for our scheduled induction. Everything was looked good and was going well. They came and broke my water around 10:00 am so I figured it would go pretty fast after that, just as it has in the past. NO, for some strange reason, unknown to us, they decided to turn off the Pit drops for a while, as a result turning off my progression as well. We sat and sat. And sat and sat, with little to no progression. They finally came and turned them back on, but at that same time my O2 levels kept dipping and making them nervous. Nothing a little O2 couldn't handle. Finally after many times of rotating from side to side and making me lay down more (because I liked sitting up so I could breath better) our little surprise decided it was time to come. Or maybe it was finally because my mom came to check on us and then left since we were still going to be awhile. With all four of my kids she has came to the hospital determined to be close by for the birth (not necessarily in the room). With Justin she came, I was at a 5, so she left to run a quick errand. We called her 20 min later telling her we had the baby and she would need to come to find out what it was. She didn't believe us until she came and they wouldn't let her in the room because they were still getting everything cleaned up. Then with Logan she came and decided she would take Justin on a short walk out in the waiting room area and when she came back 10-15 mins later I had, had him. I delivered both of them in Orem, so when she found out I was delivering Allie her in Tooele, she was determined not to miss it. She hung out for a few hours but with the rate we were going she decided it seemed safe to run home for a moment. Before she had even reached her house we had called to tell her we had the baby. So I sat ALL day waiting for Abbie to come while my mom when and enjoyed a leisure lunch with her friend, calling to check on things every so often, with no progression at all. she finally stopped by, but nothing had been happening all day. She decided once again to run home and within 30 mins Abbie joined this crazy world. If you ask me it was pretty rude that mom didn't meet us at the hospital when we arrived there at 6:00 am and then maybe she could have left around 6:30 am so this baby could have came a little sooner! :)
We were pretty excited to find out it was another girl and decided we couldn't have planned our family more perfectly, 2 rough and tough boys in a row and then 2 sweet and precious little girls in a row. Since we have never found out what we were expecting it's always been fun to make the grandparent come to the hospital to find out what we had as well. Unfortunately it didn't work out quite the same way this time. Derricks mom stayed with the kids while we were at the hospital and since due to the H1N1 virus that was rapidly spreading, they weren't able to come and visit. So rather then keeping them in suspense for 24 hours til we were able to bring her home, we called to let them know. Justin asked immediately if it was a sister, so we asked him what we would name her if it was a sister? He said "Abbie". Derrick said "well, I think we have an Abbie in our family". They were so excited.
