We arrived at the hospital at 6:00 am for our scheduled induction. Everything was looked good and was going well. They came and broke my water around 10:00 am so I figured it would go pretty fast after that, just as it has in the past. NO, for some strange reason, unknown to us, they decided to turn off the Pit drops for a while, as a result turning off my progression as well. We sat and sat. And sat and sat, with little to no progression. They finally came and turned them back on, but at that same time my O2 levels kept dipping and making them nervous. Nothing a little O2 couldn't handle. Finally after many times of rotating from side to side and making me lay down more (because I liked sitting up so I could breath better) our little
surprise decided it was time to come. Or maybe it was finally because my mom came to check on us and then left since we were still going to be awhile. With all four of my kids she has came to the hospital determined to be close by for the birth (not necessarily in the room). With Justin she came, I was at a 5, so she left to run a quick errand. We called her 20 min later telling her we had the baby and she would need to come to find out what it was. She didn't believe us until she came and they wouldn't let her in the room because they were still getting everything cleaned up. Then with Logan she came and decided she would take Justin on a short walk out in the waiting room area and when she came back 10-15
mins later I had, had him. I delivered both of them in
Orem, so when she found out I was delivering Allie her in
Tooele, she was determined not to miss it. She hung out for a few hours but with the rate we were going she decided it seemed safe to run home for a moment. Before she had even reached her house we had called to tell her we had the baby. So I sat ALL day waiting for Abbie to come while my mom when and enjoyed a leisure lunch with her friend, calling to check on things every so often, with no progression at all. she finally stopped by, but nothing had been
happening all day. She decided once again to run home and within 30
mins Abbie joined this crazy world. If you ask me it was pretty rude that mom didn't meet us at the hospital when we arrived there at 6:00 am and then maybe she could have left around 6:30 am so this baby could have came a little sooner! :)
