Happy Easter!

These kids had more Easter egg hunts this Easter then all their previous Easters put together. Grandpa & Grandma H. did a hunt for the kids while we were all at their house for conference weekend (which I need to get pictures from grandma). We then went to Grandma and Grandpa C.'s house the following Monday to celebrate the Easter holiday with them. Then on Saturday Uncle Kyle came with us to the Tooele egg hunt out at Desert Peak, along with the rest of Tooele County. I've never seen a bigger mess get cleaned up so fast in my life! But the kids had fun. Kyle gave Logan a pep talk and helped him set up a strategic game plan, while I cautioned Justin to be thoughtful of the kids around him. Apparently Justin needed a game plan too, because he spent to much time just picking things up and throwing them back down looking for something in particular (don't ask me what) that he didn't get much. But that okay, it was funny to watch.

Justin had been talking all week about making carrot shaped, carrot sugar cookies for our little bunny friend, so Saturday night we made cookies and put some shredded carrots in the dough of a few of them. Justin just knew the Easter Bunny would love 'em. He had also drew and colored him a picture and left him a note with an arrow pointing to the picture and cookies that said "for the Easter bunny". He is such a funny kid! I guess it paid off, because their baskets were full the next morning.
The boys had "Martian Matter, Alien Maker" (messy play-do and goo), in their baskets, which they had been asking for, for awhile now and since our little hip hoppity friend found them on clearance for $5 vs the retail price of $17-$20 he decided they could each have there own. Justin has been attached to the thing and only lets it out of his sight when he goes to school. He was so excited about it, he felt the need to ask in the middle of the sacrament if he could go tell Conner the Easter bunny brought it to him. That idea was quickly shot down and he wasn't very happy about having to wait until after church to talk to him about it. Justin did let us know that Connor did share in the excitement with him, in Justin's words "Connor when all crrraazzzy like when I told him". So, apparently it was a big hit!


Allie was quite proud of herself when she found an egg with absolutely NO help from us. She sure moves fast when she spots something she wants. The only time she moves faster is when she is running away from the vacuum, scared to death.
