Halloween 2009

Justin is always begging to do a craft or some project, so on Sunday afternoon when we came home from church we decided to make "Frankie," after having seen in on my cousins blog a couple of days prior. Thanks Tina for the idea! :)

Not only does Justin beg to do "projects", but he had also been begging since last Halloween to have a Halloween party. I think it was even just after Valentines Day that he started to make some invitations for it. Even though we didn't end up using the invitations he made 7-8 months ago, we did make some new ones, but that was just the beginning of the things still left to do
Justin wanted this party to be perfect. Each day after school he went over his "to-do list", well it was his "to-do" list for me to do, anyways. Anyways, he would just keep adding and adding things we needed to get and do. Our house needed to be haunted looking, bars on the windows, headstones out front, spiders w/webs, fake rats, grandmas skeleton w/the coffin, mist, strobe lights, THE WORKS! He was not going to be shamed with this party.... We we didn't get around to all of that, but we did decorate the basement living room to host this party in . Thankfully I have GREAT friend who came to help. We had games followed with candied apples, eye-ball cake and witches brew. There's NO WAY I could have wrangled 22 kids all by myself and probably not even with just Derricks help, so I am very grateful they jumped in to help.
We even made 2 nights of all this. We decided to leave it up and invited the Colovich Clan over the following evening for a spaghetti dinner.

Actually did I say 2 nights? It ended up being 4 nights of Halloween around our place. The Halloween party on Wed night. The Colovich party on Thur. nights. The ward Trunk-or-treat on Friday night (where Allie won the cutest costume award. Thanks Chambrae for letting us borrow it.) and then the REAL Halloween on sat night. BUSY, BUSY, BUSY! I sure am glad that week is over.

Your "Frankie" turned out cute!Sounds like your Halloween was very similar to ours. Glad that holiday is still 10 months away. This coming year will be our 5th annual Halloween Party.
